President Donald Trump denied the phrases of a $12 billion deal with Iran to end the battle in the Middle East, saying Tehran leaked a pretend deal to the media.
The president took to Truth Social to deny the beforehand reported phrases of a deal with the Middle East nation to deliver the battle that began on Feb. 28 to an end.
Trump also branded Tehran as “weak and pathetic,” arguing that studies of a deal “bears no relation to the truth.”
“The terms that Iran leaked out to the Fake News have NOTHING to do with the terms that were agreed to, in writing. What they said, including their weak and pathetic statement on having a deal, bears no relation to the truth,” Trump wrote on Friday.
“Very dishonorable people to deal with. With them, there is no such thing as dealing in good faith. AMAZING! Also, their totally rebuffed Drone attack last night against Indian Ships leaving the Hormuz Strait is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. They better get their act together, and FAST!”
Trump’s assertion comes after Iran’s Mehr News Agency printed a 14-point draft U.S.-Iran memorandum of understanding on Friday. The news company prefaced the draft, saying that it stays under review by Iranian authorities and has not been formally authorised.
Among the phrases of the deal was a everlasting and quick ceasefire on all fronts, including Lebanon; U.S. to carry the naval blockade within 30 days and withdraw forces from areas surrounding Iran; the Strait of Hormuz to reopen within 30 days under preparations set by Iran; sanctions on Iran’s oil gross sales, petrochemical merchandise, and derivatives suspended, with full Iranian access to revenues; and more.
Iranian overseas ministry spokesperson, Esmail Baghaei, also announced on Friday that the textual content of a deal with the U.S. is “mostly finalized.”
