Again? Senator Mitch McConnell Back in Hospital

Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY), on Sunday, was rushed to the hospital with an undisclosed “mystery ailment.” His condition is, as of this writing, unknown.

Retiring Sen. Mitch McConnell was mysteriously whisked to the hospital Sunday morning for unknown causes, and his current condition just isn’t publicly recognized.

“Senator McConnell was admitted to the hospital this morning. He is receiving excellent care,” a spokesperson for McConnell told The Post.

McConnell’s spokesperson declined to give more particulars about the senator’s hospitalization.

The 84-year-old former Senate GOP chief has long suffered from a string of health-related points even as he has continued to ask sharp questions during committee hearings as he serves out the rest of his seventh time period.

The Kentucky Republican was beforehand hospitalized in February with flu-like symptoms.

These might very effectively all be nothing more than indicators of superior age. This is much from the first time we have had cause to doubt the previous Majority Leader’s health and well-being.

In 2023, McConnell (R-Ky.) made headlines for freezing up a number of instances mid-speech after struggling a concussion and minor rib fracture earlier that 12 months from a fall at a fundraiser at the Waldorf Astoria resort in Washington, DC.

It was later revealed that McConnell had suffered two other tumbles earlier that 12 months.

McConnell has often been seen in a wheelchair in latest months, as he serves out the rest of his time in the Senate.

McConnell served as the Senate GOP’s chief from 2007 through early 2025, rendering him the longest celebration chief in the higher chamber’s historical past. Republicans tapped Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) as his successor.

In the House of Representatives, we have now Republican Hal Rogers (KY-05), 88, and Democrat Maxine Waters (CA-43), 86. The District of Columbia’s non-voting delegate, Eleanor Holmes Norton, is 87.

It might be time for some new blood in these states/districts.
