US president Donald Trump appeared to fall asleep live on Fox News yet again during a press convention from the Oval Office this week. The 80-year-old was slumped at his desk at a coverage assembly, while assorted people stood behind him to give speeches – but with the president’s eyes falling closed, viewers have been soon left nervous about his health.

The total assembly was only recorded for around 22 minutes – but Trump couldn’t appear to keep awake for all the size of it, hiding his fingers under his desk and being pressured to blink himself awake at a number of factors throughout the assembly.

Viewers aired their concern for him online, with one writing: “This is pathetic, 30 minutes and Trump can’t stay awake.”

Someone else said: “The naps he took were so frequent, and he looked so comfortable in his dream world that I felt rested just watching him count sheep.”

While a fourth social media person said: “Give the man a break, sheeeesh. The amount of LIES he tells per day is draining! Sometimes I fall asleep just listening to his lies.”

Last week, Trump’s “swollen ankles” also brought about concern. The authors of Regime Change: Inside the Imperial Presidency of Donald Trump, Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan, wrote that the rationale joint press conferences with world leaders are held in the Oval Office and not the East Room was “in part because the acoustics were better, and he didn’t have to stand for an hour.”

They added: “He was also having trouble hearing, asking people to repeat questions they had just asked.”
