Trumps niece says time to pay up after $5M E. | Political News

Donald Trump’s niece celebrated following a Supreme Court ruling on Monday that will require the president to pay $5 million to a girl who introduced a lawsuit against him in federal court.

The justices declined to hear Trump’s appeal of a 2023 decrease court ruling that mandated he pay E. Jean Carroll thousands and thousands after a federal court jury decided he was liable for inappropriate abuse and defamation. Trump has disputed Carroll’s allegations that he inappropriately assaulted her.

The Supreme Court supplied no rationalization for declining Trump’s appeal concerning the $5 million verdict. No justices filed a written dissent.

“At last! @ejeancarroll just kicked Donald’s a– once and for all,” Trump’s niece, Mary Trump, posted on X. “What a legend she is! Time to pay up, Donald.”

Trump reacts to ruling on “Fake Case”.

Trump, however, criticized the choice on social media.

“Surprisingly, the Supreme Court declined to “review” a Fake Case brought against me by a woman I never met (Decades old celebrity photo line, standing with her husband, does not count! ). I will continue the fight against this Weaponization and Lawfare Case against me, including the ridiculous claim of Defamation, with all of my power and strength,” he posted on Truth Social. “This Case is really against the United States of America, and all it stands for, and should never be allowed to happen to another President, or Candidate to be! New York State created a Law, for an instant speck of time, going back many decades, in order to wrongfully “nab” me. It was tailormade, and this Injustice cannot be allowed to stand!” he continued.

Trump’s efforts to “avoid accountability” come to an end

Trump’s legal group had argued that the presiding decide in the case inappropriately permitted testimony from two ladies who claimed they had been subjected to inappropriate misconduct by Trump.

“Today’s Supreme Court decision affirms once and for all the jury’s unanimous verdict that President Donald J. Trump inappropriately assaulted and defamed E. Jean Carroll,” said Carroll’s attorney, Roberta Kaplan, in a assertion.

“His multiple efforts to appeal that verdict have all failed and today’s ruling ends his quest to avoid accountability for his actions,” she added.
