Nancy Pelosis husband accused of hit-and-run | Political News
Nancy Pelosi’s husband, Paul, has been accused of fleeing the scene after crashing into an unoccupied parked car in Napa Valley.
The Napa County Sheriff’s Department said the 86-year-old stopped briefly at the scene before driving away.
Paul allegedly “admitted to hitting something, but said he did not know what he had hit, so he kept driving,” according to a press release from the Napa County Sheriff’s Department.
“He drove until his car became disabled and was no longer able to continue driving,” the division added.
The parked car had “significant damage to the front right” according to police.
Pelosi has not been arrested, and a re-evaluation referral type will probably be submitted to the DMV, which is common for aged drivers.
Nancy Pelosi gained’t search reelection
Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi won’t search reelection to the U.S. House, bringing to a close her storied profession as not only the first lady in the speaker’s workplace but arguably the most highly effective in American politics.
Pelosi, who has represented San Francisco for practically 40 years, announced her determination Thursday.
“I will not be seeking reelection to Congress,” Pelosi said in a video tackle to voters.
Pelosi, showing upbeat and forward-looking as pictures of her many years of accomplishments crammed the frames, said she would end out her last yr in workplace. And she left those who despatched her to Congress with a call to motion to carry on the legacy of agenda-setting both in the U.S. and around the world.
“My message to the city I love is this: San Francisco, know your power,” she said. “We have made history. We have made progress. We have always led the way.”
Pelosi said, “And now we must continue to do so by remaining full participants in our democracy and fighting for the American ideals we hold dear.”
The determination, while not totally sudden, ricocheted across Washington, and California, as a seasoned technology of political leaders is stepping apart forward of next yr’s midterm elections. Some are leaving reluctantly, others with resolve, but many are going through challenges from newcomers keen to lead the Democratic Party and confront President Donald Trump.
