Donald Trump reveals what he really thinks about Andy | UK News

Andy Burnham was torn aside on GB News as it was revealed how Donald Trump responded when requested about the MP for Makerfield. Burnham is the most seemingly candidate to substitute Keir Starmer following his resignation as Labour chief and prime minister last month. Lord Ross Kempsell has now mentioned the chance of Burnham pursuing the Chagos deal, which he described as the “most hated policy in DC”. He said: “When the president was asked whether he knows who Andy Burnham is, he said, ‘I know that he’s a mayor of a town and that he’s very liberal.'” That’s the premise on which Andy Burnham is coming in.

“He’s got to reverse that perception by the president and this is completely the wrong way to do it, by bringing back the Chagos deal.” Kempsell criticised Burnham for probably pursuing the deal when it’s negatively impacting the connection between the UK and the US.

He remarked: “It’s the most hated policy in DC, it’s been undermining the UK-US relationship and I just think it’s bad for the transatlantic alliance.

Kempsell continued: “More broadly, Andy Burnham, in our estimation, has made more than 250 billion kilos so far of unfunded spending guarantees.

“This is the key issue that I don’t think is being talked about enough. He can lay out his narrative vision, we all support the idea of devolving more power to local communities across the country.

“I feel it is a great factor that we’re going to get a prime minister from the north of England who is passionate about investing across the nation, not just in London. Everybody agrees on that, but how is he going to pay for it?”

He went on: “The main plank of his coverage in phrases of spending commitments is to spend 100 billion kilos on renationalising the water industry. This is absurd economics.

“We have gilts of this country running at nearly five per cent which is at global financial crisis levels. He does not have the money to fund his spending commitments so it’s completely non credible and non reality based.”

Kempsell added: “If you add 47 billion pounds to that for the Chagos deal, you’re going to completely blow the balance sheet.”
