Fox News all of a sudden interrupted its coverage of Lindsey Graham’s death on Sunday to share a breaking news update.

While reflecting on the South Carolina Senator’s legacy and his political profession on The Big Weekend Show on July 12, the Fox News hosts briefly paused to announce the latest US strikes on Iran.

At some level, Tomi Lahren said, “In the meantime we have a Fox News alert,” briefly pausing the panel’s dialogue on Graham’s death.

The host shared, “CENTCOM says that US forces have begun launching more strikes against Iran just moments ago.

“The strikes are meant to stop Iran’s assault on business transport vessels.”

She then asked host Johnny “Joey” Jones about the significance of the strikes, also mentioning that Graham regularly advised Donald Trump on matters such as Iran and was one of the chief backers of the president’s war in the Middle East.

“Alright Joey, going back to you on that, you already know, speaking about Lindsey Graham and, of course, his stance on the struggle with Iran or endeavor in Iran, I suppose we are going to call it and then now to this to more strikes,” Tomi said.

She asked “I suppose we in all probability knew this was coming, but what’s your response to, I suppose, the building depth right here?”

In his reply, Joey also mentioned Graham’s support for the Iran conflict. The latest US strikes came after an Iranian attack on a container ship in the Strait of Hormuz that set it ablaze and left a crew member missing over the weekend.

Iran retaliated by targeting countries across the Middle East. Missile alert sirens sounded at dawn Monday in Bahrain, home to the US Navy’s 5th Fleet. There was no immediate word on damage.

Iranian state media acknowledged the latest attacks on its soil early Monday, describing explosions in several locations with at least one person being killed.

Iranian attacks on Sunday stretched Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Jordan and even Oman – whose territorial waters with Iran make up the strait.

The latest attacks came just a day after Graham passed away in Washington, D.C. on Saturday night.

His office said he had suffered from a “transient and sudden sickness” and according to a preliminary medical examiner finding, he died after a tear in his aorta.

An official cause of death will be disclosed after toxicological and microscopic testing.

A noted foreign policy hawk, Graham was one of the most influential figures in Washington on international affairs and he advised Trump on matters such as the Iran war and Russia.

On Friday, he had announced an agreement with the Trump administration to move forward on a package of Russia sanctions.

Trump, who talked to Graham frequently, said he was “like a member of the household. It’s very robust.”

He said on NBC’s Meet the Press that Graham had called him on Saturday night after returning from a trip to Ukraine and “sounded a little bit drained, but excellent.”

The president ordered that flags across the country be flown at half-staff until next Saturday evening.

Graham, elected to the Senate in 2002 after serving in the House, long promoted a policy of robust US military interventionism and strong national defense that in later years would put him at odds with the growing isolationist wing of his party.

Over time, Graham became well-known for his close ties with Trump, whom the senator briefly ran against for the presidential nomination in 2016.

Under South Carolina law, Republican Gov. Henry McMaster will appoint a temporary replacement for Graham, who was seeking a fifth term in November.

A new nominee will probably be chosen in a particular main, which is required to be held within weeks of a emptiness. The winner of November’s basic election will start a full six-year time period in January.
