A TalkTV star has spoken about the “one thing” that didn’t make sense in the Ann Widdecombe homicide investigation – just minutes before a bombshell update. The former Conservative MP was discovered useless at her home aged 78 last week, with police at first insisting there was nothing to counsel her death was associated to politics.

Isabel Oakeshott appeared on Jeremy Kyle’s TalkTV show today (July 13) to talk about the continuing case, pointing out that the suspect reportedly drove around 270 miles with what appeared like a “weapon” to go to Ann’s handle where she was later discovered useless. She claimed: “It’s perfectly legitimate for Nigel Farage, who has a pretty good instinct and track record on these things, as he did after Southport, to just probe that a little further.

“There is nothing illegitimate in questioning whether that is the true story. I’m not saying it isn’t. If there is some other reason, I do think the police should just probably tell us.”

She went on: “Because on the face of it, if a bloke drives 300 miles at breakneck speed – I’ve done the maths, I’ve looked at the number of miles and the number of hours he had to do that journey – carrying what looks very like a weapon in his pocket, all the way down to an elderly lady’s house.

“Unless he’s got some link with her that we don’t know about, then that’s looking to me like it’s pretty political.”

Jeremy agreed: “I’ve watched it all morning! Why would you drive 270 miles with a weapon in your pocket? But we don’t know. And this is why the official line with the police, who arrested somebody straight away on Saturday…

“I remember sitting there when they went ‘it’s a white British male’. The first thing my wife said to me is, ‘There’s something going on here’. That person turned out to be a handyman, a single dad. Gone. If the press had gone for that, all hell would have broken loose.”

He added: “I agree with you. You make the point about Nigel and what he said about Southport. You’ll get two answers to that. Some people will say, ‘Nigel Farage is quite good at these things, he sniffs it out’.

“Others will go, ‘It’s really convenient for Farage, isn’t it, because now nobody will be saying anything about the loan’. Well I could say the same about Andy bl**dy Burnham, couldn’t I, because in seven days he’s going to be the prime minister of this country and there’s no scrutiny on him at all!

“The suspect is in police custody and I get the shock and horror of so many people at Reform and at Talk, the last place to speak to her.”

Now counter terrorism police are main the investigation, after “new information and evidence” got here to gentle. A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of her homicide.
