The Chase Around the World kicked off tonight and The Chasers suffered their first defeat in the ITV spin-off. Bradley Walsh fronts the new ITV recreation show, which seems to be a cross between gameshow The Chase and BBC’s Race Across The World.
The programme sees six pairs of contestants started the first stint in Rome, before racing across town to the end line. After being tasked with a sequence of puzzles and questions along their journey, they’ve to be correct to progress to each checkpoint. The last staff meet Bradley at the end line where they went up against Chasers Mark Labbett and Anne Hegerty.
But just minutes into the programme viewers issued a comparable grievance. One X consumer wrote: “This version of #TheChase is painful. @ITV in future please stick to tried, tested and very successful version of #TheChase. #ChaseAroundTheWorld.”
Another echoed: “Really not sure about this #ChaseAroundtheWorld.”
A 3rd wrote: “Not sure about this #chasearoundtheworld programme. The attraction of #thechase or #beatthechasers is that you can play along at home. Whilst you can do that in this too there’s too much time in between questions and why would I wanna watch people running around Rome.”
