Fury as GB News star confronts unapologetic migrant | UK News
GB News followers had been enraged after the channel shared an update on ‘visa avenue’ – a place in Harrow where 27 companies have introduced as many as 84 migrants into the nation on expert employee visas over the last 5 years alone. National reporter Charlie Peters shared the update as he visited the road.
He requested one employee why the companies are usually not “looking to hire British or local people for these jobs”. They replied: “We do have local people as well.” He then hit back: “As well… but you’ve also hired foreigners to work at a chicken shop on skilled worker visas. People might be wondering, is it skilled work, working in a chicken shop?” She answered: “Local people don’t want to work in chicken shops, I think that’s why.” She then added that they’re “happy” that people with the visas are allowed to work in such locations.
Another employee shared that he preferred to rent mainly Nepalese people and when requested why he does not need to rent British people, he replied: “We want to bring the people, you know? The people that want to come to the UK, England, and settle here in ‘dream land’.”
Charlie then explained that those with a visa can also “bring in their whole family as well.” He said: “A skilled visa doesn’t just mean you can bring in a worker, it means you can bring in your whole family as well.
“On this one stretch in Harrow, that may imply up to 350 migrants coming into Britain.”
Since June 2024, to get a skilled worker visa, the job you are doing needs to pay at least £41,700 with some exceptions. However, many of the businesses on ‘visa street’ hired workers before the changes meaning that many are working in shops and beauty services.
Charlie noted that sales and retail assistants, cashiers, hairdressers and barbers and beauticians are not supposed to be eligible for the scheme as per the Home Office’s official list of occupations that qualify.
However, many have slipped through the net due to rule changes and oversight.
