Renowned DJ David Guetta and French President Emmanuel Macron have been among those paying tribute after the death of French electropop musician and report producer Kavinsky was confirmed at the age of 50.
The artist, whose monitor ‘Nightcall’ gained worldwide recognition after that includes in the Ryan Gosling blockbuster Drive (2011), was found dead at his Paris residence on July 28.
Kavinsky, born Vincent Belorgey in Seine-Saint-Denis, France, on 31 July, 1975, initially pursued a profession in movie, showing in a number of French and Belgian productions, including Nonfilm (2001), Aaltra (2003), and Ultranova (2005). Since news of his passing broke, an outpouring of tributes has flooded social media. “Just learned about Kavinsky’s passing,” wrote fellow DJ David Guetta, stories the Express.
“A true icon of French electronic music. Thank you for creating a sound that was entirely your own and for leaving us with music that will continue to inspire. Thank you for your kindness and simplicity. My thoughts are with his family, friends, and loved ones. Rest in peace.”
Similarly, French President Emmanuel Macron has supplied his condolences, describing Kavinsky as a “source of French pride forever.”

Catherine Pégard, France’s tradition minister, has also responded to the news. “With the sudden passing of Kavinsky, France has lost one of its most unique voices,” she posted on X.
“From the film Drive to the Paris Olympics, the whole world was moved by Nightcall. Both danceable and nostalgic, his music will continue to transcend generations and borders.”
Despite his death at the age of 50, his passing was not discovered to be under suspicious circumstances.
“An ‌inquiry into the cause of death has been ‌opened to determine the circumstances of the death, as first responders found no suspicious elements at the scene,” the Paris Prosecutors’ Office said in a assertion.
While Kavinsky’s official trigger of death has not been launched, investigators reportedly indicated that he might have suffered a stroke.
