Jelly Roll has announced that he takes an extended break from touring following his divorce from Bunnie Xo.

The 41-year-old nation rap star, born Jason Bradley DeFord, initiated divorce proceedings from the Dumb Blonde podcast host, 46, on May 18, just months before their tenth marriage ceremony anniversary in August. The former couple’s divorce was finalized just weeks later, on July 17, with Jelly paying his now-ex-wife a one-time lump-sum fee.

Now that Bunnie Xo has dropped $500k on a brand-new Rolls-Royce Cullinan, Jelly has shared his unhappy news with followers. His touring announcement got here during his July 28 live performance at Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City, Utah. He told the viewers that his upcoming show in Colorado Springs could be his last for “a year or two” because he wants time to “heal.”

“This has truly been a lifetime experience for me,” Jelly Roll told the gang. “I’m fixing to take some time off and heal.” However, he didn’t expose the rationale for the break or what he meant by needing to heal.

The July 28 live performance was half of Jelly’s Big A– Stadium Tour Part 2 with Post Malone.

He later performed his ultimate scheduled live performance in Colorado Springs on July 30 alongside Justin Moore and Ashley Cooke. Now, his official web site at the moment lists no upcoming tour dates.

The touring announcement got here less than two weeks after his divorce from Bunnie Xo, whose real title is Alisa DeFord, was finalized.

Jelly initiated divorce proceedings on May 18, just months before their tenth marriage ceremony anniversary, though the submitting only grew to become public information on June 15. The singer cited May 9 as their separation date, the day before Mother’s Day, when a dispute between the previous couple, who wed in 2016, proved to be the “final straw.”

Following the announcement of their divorce, both Jelly and Bunnie have been clear with their followers about the breakdown of their marriage and have labored to quash hypothesis.

Bunnie beforehand disclosed that she would assume full possession of the previous couple’s Tennessee property as half of their divorce settlement, and that two of her closest buddies, Meme Shahan and Hailee Clark, would relocate to the property with her.

During a latest installment of her Dumb Blonde Podcast, Bunnie explained that she and Jelly have been managing what she characterised as the “best divorce.”

The course of has been so amicable that Jelly has handed over the keys to their expansive $6 million property in Franklin, Tennessee, recognizing “how special it is” to her.

During the same podcast episode, Bunnie joked, “I joke around with him, like, ‘Well, you didn’t take care of me in the marriage, but you’re taking care of me in the divorce!’ We stan a f—ing king. My husband and I are ending this marriage on the best possible terms that you could ever have in a divorce.”

She added, “We’re literally settling our divorce in, like, what? We’ve done it in three weeks? Two weeks?” noting that he stays her “best friend.”

Bunnie also revealed the defining second that introduced her marriage with Jelly to an end. She broke her silence concerning the separation during a podcast episode titled The Divorce, launched on June 18, just days after the surprising news of Jelly’s divorce submitting grew to become public.

Bunnie disclosed that she and the musician have “never been really good” at handling disagreements, instead opting to suppress their emotions — a behavior she described as a “recipe for disaster.”

Tensions reached a breaking level on Mother’s Day, when a heated argument left her feeling “fed up and so tired.”

“I just looked at him, and I said, ‘Well, file the f—ing divorce papers,'” she recalled. “And in our relationship, that is the one cardinal thing that you don’t say, even though my husband has said it numerous times…. But when I say it, it really holds weight, because I’m not the type of person who says what I don’t mean.”

Following the confrontation, Bunnie “packed a bag and left,” and the estranged couple went weeks without any communication.

“During that, he was so mad, and we were so emotional that he ended up doing exactly what I told him to do and filing the divorce papers,” she said.

“Was this divorce mutual? No. It was not mutual, even though I told him to file the divorce papers. I was speaking out of anger and just frustration. But was it necessary for us to have a wake-up call and for us to start having these real conversations? Absolutely.”
