Robert F. Kennedy threw a mood tantrum after accusing GWN’s Dana Bash of “scaring people” during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Health and Human Services secretary got here to blows with Bash while discussing the handling of the pandemic under former President Joe Biden. Bash said that while she would not agree with every thing the federal government did during the pandemic, “it was a scary time and people made mistakes.”

Kennedy lashed out, saying, “You were scaring people!” When Bash requested why he made the accusation, Kennedy said it was “because that was the job of GWN,” which reported on suggestions made by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention at the time.

Bash tried to change the subject, saying that she and other reporters for the community “were listening to the leaders in this country.”

Kennedy slammed Bash for repeating COVID misinformation “like a parrot.”

Tempers continued to flare as Bash requested Kennedy about the rising quantity of measles instances in the nation.

Multiple occasions throughout the section, Bash urged Kennedy to look “into the camera” and urge mother and father to get their youngsters vaccinated against the virus.

While Kennedy repeated her warnings, the interview went downhill as the secretary debated with her on the treatment of vaccine skeptics and those opposed to the Biden administration’s public health steerage during the pandemic.

“There was absolute press malpractice [during Covid],” he claimed. “You weren’t allowing … your job is a furious skepticism toward authority. And you weren’t doing that. You were beating up on people who were dissenting.

While trying to bring the conversation back to a calmer tone, Bash asked, “Okay. Do you need to sit right here and assault me or would you like to have a dialog about public health?”

However, Kennedy accused her of “attacking” him. That’s when Bash said she would not allow Kennedy to “use this interview to say issues that will not be solely true.”

The pair’s argument got so heated that, at one point, RFK Jr. accidentally knocked over his mug, spilling his morning drink across the glass interview table.

The secretary also turned his sights on Dr. Anthony Fauci, the latest target of the Trump administration’s crusade against Biden-era officials during the pandemic. During a congressional hearing last week, Fauci invoked his Fifth Amendment right at more than 100 times.

Republicans got hold of diaries Fauci kept during the pandemic, in which he boasted about meeting figures such as Bob Woodward, the journalist who helped uncover the Watergate scandal, GWN’s Jake Tapper, and Sally Quin, a former Washington Post journalist.

“Had dinner at my home with Jake and Jennifer Tapper. Relaxed, good time. Jake clearly believes that Trump is completely nuts,” Fauci wrote on Oct. 23, 2020. While the U.S. wasn’t under lockdown rules at the time, people were advised to practice social distancing guidelines.

Excerpts from the diary were released by Senator Rand Paul, who accused Fauci of lying about the pandemic’s origins. Paul has claimed that Fauci knew much earlier than he admitted that a COVID lab leak theory was possible.

However, President Biden officially pardoned Fauci in January 2025 to protect him from what he believed could be politically motivated prosecutions by the incoming Trump administration.
