Sadie King is set to make her Emmerdale comeback after a 20-year absence. The character (portrayed by Patsy Kensit) initially appeared in the village in 2004 as Jimmy King’s (Nick Miles) spouse, though their union proved short-lived. Sadie subsequently embarked on relationships with Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley), Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) and Jimmy’s brother Matthew (Matt Healy).

Now, the legendary antagonist is heading back to the village, where she’s going to reveal a important secret. Speaking to journalists at a latest event, Emmerdale boss Laura Shaw hinted at Sadie’s comeback, saying: “It’s Sadie King. I feel like, of course she’s got an agenda… What I can say is the reason that Sadie comes back and the secret she comes back with is gonna be absolutely shocking. And whether all is quite as it seems, we shall see as the story progresses, but it’s gonna be pretty big and pretty shocking,” experiences the Daily Star.

Laura continued: “We’ve definitely tried to bring Sadie back every bit in a dramatic way as she arrived last time. So, I think her arrival will be every bit as amazing and brilliant as the first time around.

“I feel most likely the most surprising factor is unquestionably the motive that brings her back. It’s undoubtedly one of the biggest secrets we have ever had within the King household, and it is gonna be fairly explosive.”

The series producer proceeded to reassure soap fans that Sadie’s reappearance will prove “massively rewarding” as they revisit some memorable Dales storylines.

“Some of the tales that we, you realize, that Sadie was concerned in back then, some of the characters that she had relationships with – people like Robert, like Cain Dingle – it is going to be actually attention-grabbing to have the opportunity to revisit some of those tales as nicely,” Laura explained.

“We’ll have the opportunity to see how that [what] occurred back then 20 years in the past, and those relationships and those tales that we performed back then, still have an effect on what we play now and we’ll choose up on those and it would still type of have an effect on how the relationships work now.”

Patsy also disclosed that Sadie hasn’t lost the scheming nature that catapulted her to prominence, though a somewhat different facet of her character will emerge upon her comeback.

She quipped: “She was most likely birthed by a Jekyll,” adding: “There’s a fairly bittersweet aspect to her and it would be good that perhaps that comes through. But she’s still a cow.”

Plenty of drama lies in store for Sadie, as she has already received a slap from some of the villagers in certain scenes Patsy has filmed so far. “You will not be disenchanted,” the actress hinted.

The ITV soap has now unveiled a special season that is poised to transform the Dales as we know it, with six legendary women commanding the spotlight. They include Sadie, alongside Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham), Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins), Dawn Fletcher (Olivia Bromley), Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill), and Serena Sugden (Casey Al-Shaqsy).
