A 72-year-old New York City resident said she plans on submitting a lawsuit against Immigration and Customs Enforcement after a violent encounter with a masked agent.

The state of affairs unfolded on Thursday, when Linda Wolff attended an anti-ICE demonstration in Inwood, a neighborhood in Upper Manhattan, which she alleges turned violent. She captured footage of the incident on her telephone, which reveals a masked ICE agent showing to be provoked by demonstrators after yelling at the federal officers for their position in deporting hundreds, prompting the ICE agent to pepper-spray her and other demonstrators with Mace and threatening to do it again.

At one level, she said, an agent walked toward the demonstrators and started spraying them with a poisonous aerosol substance.

“I said to the tow truck driver, ‘You know, you should be ashamed of yourself, working for ICE,’ and he got crazy,” Wolff told CBS New York. “The ICE guys came over, and they just Maced me.”

Wolff was standing on the sidewalk when the incident occurred, and the video footage reveals her being sprayed in the face at close vary. Toward the end of the video, she could be heard saying, “Well, you just Maced me,” to which the agent seemingly responds, “I’m gonna do it again.”

Wolff told CBS New York that she is still reeling from the aftermath of the assault days after the incident occurred. She said, “My eyes, they’re burning, and so they’re very sensitive to the light.”

While recovering, she said she has thought about taking legal action against the federal immigration company for the assault.

“It’s in the Constitution. I can stand on the sidewalk and protest,” she told CBS New York, including that she has no intention of stopping her advocacy work.
