A chaotic offseason for UNC soccer continues.
Defensive coordinator Steve Belichick, the son of head coach Bill Belichick, is on medical leave and not with the workforce as the Tar Heels continue their preseason practices, Bill told reporters on Thursday.
No additional particulars on his health have been disclosed.
“We look forward to getting him back as soon as possible,” Bill Belichick said.

It is unclear if Steve Belichick might need to miss video games. When requested whether or not that was a risk, Bill Belichick repeated, “As soon as possible.”
Bill Belichick said the defensive employees would continue their collective work in his son’s absence, and was non-committal when requested who may deal with defensive play-calling if Steve Belichick has not returned by the time UNC opens its season on Aug. 29 in Ireland against TCU.
