Dutch rapper and musician Tony Scott has died at the age of 54, following a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). His household confirmed the news in a assertion, noting that the producer had “passed away peacefully” on Thursday, 6 August, “surrounded by love.”
Tony, whose real title is Peter van den Bosch, was identified and beloved for his pioneering contributions to the Dutch hip-hop scene. During his decade-spanning profession, the 54-year-old launched three albums: The Chief (1990), Expressions from the Soul (1991), and Chameleon (1993). Recognised for his work on jingles, Tony also launched a theme tune for the Amsterdam Admirals in 1996, and incessantly recorded station jingles for the Amsterdam Funk Channel.
Prior to his passing, the beloved artist announced that he had been identified with MS in 2014, which prompted him to carry out in a farewell live performance at the Paradiso music venue in 2016.
