Teen Fast-Food Worker Pays for a Customers Meal,

East Idaho News reporter Nate Eaton supplied this beautiful story about the guts of service, the guts of compassion, and what it means to serve the neighborhood. It highlights the considerate actions of a Gen Z fast food employee, so, once again, it feels good to say, The Kids are All Right. 

Service above and past is the subject of this week’s Feel-Good Friday.

A person wrote to Eaton and requested him to discover a younger fast-food employee named Matthew, who labored at the McDonald’s in Rexburg, ID. The man needed Matthew to get recognition for his act of kindness toward him, and knew that the reporter could be a great avenue in which to do that. 

The man told Eaton:

On Friday night, I went to McDonald’s for dinner and ordered a hamburger and a shake. Between the order board and the pay window, I spotted that I didn’t have my card with me. Frantically I began to look for it, I couldn’t not discover it, and requested to just cancel the order. And this younger man supplied to pay for my meal. 

Eaton did find Matthew, and had him relate the story of this exchange. The element Matthew gave mirrored that it was more than just a cost for a meal, but the persistence, time, and consideration he gave this buyer. In the below video, Matthew said:

So, I used to be just doing back drive, serving to out prospects, and a man comes in, he could not discover his pockets, so he was making an attempt to determine how to do the TAP on his cellphone, but we just could not get it found out, so I just supplied to pay for it.

Matthew said this so matter-of-factly, as if it was an automated response that he did not have to suppose about. But what Matthew said next so superbly embodied his coronary heart, his mindset, and his character. “It’s not hard on me,” Matthew said. “It’s money I may give out to the neighborhood, help other people, so, I haven’t got a drawback with it.”

It’s money I may give out to the neighborhood. What a considerate and selfless assertion from one so younger. The man insisted on repaying Matthew for his kindness, and tried to join, but wasn’t having success. In his observe to Eaton, the person said:

He stored insisting that it was okay so I agreed if he would give me his title and cellphone quantity and I’d pay him back. So this morning, I called. No reply, so I texted the quantity he gave me about 10:30 a.m. and as of yet I’ve not had any reply. I would love to pay him back. And I really feel that it was an act of kindness that needs to be acknowledged and to his mother and father two 👍👍. You don’t see this very often from younger people these days. I have no idea where he lives, he works at McDonald’s on the north aspect of Rexburg.

This man is true: sadly, you do not see this kind of perspective, customer support, and awareness in younger people today; so, when you encounter it, it is shocking, like a cool breeze on a sizzling day. Huge applause to his mother and father, who raised him nicely and not only taught him the significance of a work ethic, but the significance of honoring others and assembly the second.

Matthew is articulate, and has a fabulous smile. His exchange with Nate Eaton will put a smile on your face.
