The North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) said F-16 fighter jets intercepted multiple aircrafts over Bedminster, New Jersey, where President Trump was taking part in golf on Sunday.
“NORAD F-16s intercepted multiple normal aviation plane today that violated non permanent flight restrictions over Bedminster, NJ. All plane have been safely escorted out of the realm by NORAD plane. Pilots: verify your Notice to Airmen (NOTAMS) and FAA Temporary Flight Restrictions,” NORAD posted on X.
The 1st Air Force’s Air Forces Northern clarified that two plane have been concerned in the incident, FOX News reported. The aircrafts have been safely escorted out of the restricted space by NORAD plane, officers said.
No threats or harmful habits have been reported during the secure escort.
Earlier this week, on August 6, the Air Force wrote on X, “Heads up, Pilots! Multiple TFRs will be in effect over the New Jersey area this weekend. U.S. Army ground-based air defense assets may also be visible. Remember: Check NOTAMs before EVERY flight! Stay Safe, Fly Informed!”
Trump is spending the weekend at the New Jersey property, where he claimed two more closely scrutinized membership championship titles last week.
