Aravind Adiga’s bestselling novel Last Man in Tower is set to make its method to the big screen, with the movie scheduled to release in Indian theatres on September 11, 2026. Directed by Ben Rekhi and produced by Rana Daggubati’s Spirit Media, the movie stars Manoj Bajpayee, Boman Irani, Divya Dutta and Sukant Goel in key roles.
The movie explores themes of personal conviction, altering relationships and the troublesome decisions people face when circumstances around them start to change. At its centre is Masterji, a retired faculty trainer who finds himself standing alone as people in his group start to make decisions that differ from his own. His willpower to stay firm in what he believes creates pressure among the people he has recognized for years.
Among those whose selections conflict with Masterji’s is Mrs Puri, whose own aspirations and compromises are influenced by the likelihood of a different future. As the state of affairs develops, the story appears at the alternatives people make when an alternative for a new life comes within their attain.
Manoj Bajpayee and Divya Dutta headline the central battle, while Boman Irani takes on a pivotal function. The movie also marks the first time Irani and Bajpayee will share the screen. Sooni Taraporevala has tailored Adiga’s bestselling novel for the movie.
