A new collaboration between two high-tech wave pool firms is utilizing AI to create a more personalised, household pleasant wave park expertise.
Developed by Endless Surf and Flowstate, “The Mixtape” is a system designed to enable all surfers to experience together, regardless of their browsing talent stage.
A new high-tech system makes use of AI to enable people of all talent ranges to surf together at wave parks.
The collaboration has been more than two years in the making, according to the 2 firms.
But how does it work?
The wave tech elements in talent ranges of riders in the group and customizes waves accordingly. Once you’re out on the water, the AI-powered laptop imaginative and prescient identifies each surfer in the lineup and connects with software program to ship their chosen wave.
The Mixtape permits you to pre-select your own wave, and Flowstate’s AI-powered imaginative and prescient identifies which surfer to give the wave to.
“The Mixtape brings together the two most advanced technologies in their respective fields to make an already unique Endless Surf experience even more personalized,” said Paul Chutter, president of Endless Surf.
“Surfers can share long rides with their friends and family while each getting the wave they want, and operators gain an entirely new session product they can offer their guests.”

Surf parks are usually organized around skill, but Flowstate says their new technology can help convey surfers at different ranges together.
“Surfing with friends or family usually means everyone needs to want the same type of wave, or you end up surfing separate sessions,” Flowstate CEO Luke Wallace said. “The Mixtape changes that.”
The collaboration also consists of multi-angle browsing seize and AI-powered teaching. The two firms plan to collaborate on more merchandise in the future.
DSRT Surf, a large wave park in Palm Desert, is set to open in late-summer 2026. The construction boasts North America’s largest Wavegarden-powered surf lagoon at 5.5 acres.
The Wavegarden Cove system is designed to generate a number of wave varieties concurrently, producing up to 1,000 constant, ocean-like waves every hour for all surfers from freshmen to specialists.
