It took 30 years, but one of rapper Tupac Amaru Shakur’s killers has been convicted of homicide in a court law. On Monday, August 31, a Las Vegas jury discovered Duane Keith Davis aka Keffe D guilty of plotting the 1996 drive-by taking pictures of the beloved actor and rapper.
The New York Times experiences that the jury deliberated for about three hours before coming to its verdict. Keefe D was discovered guilty of first-degree homicide, amongst other expenses.
Reportedly, the prosecution’s case relied closely on Keffe D’s own phrases in numerous interviews and his own memoir, where he detailed the conspiracy to shoot Tupac. As for the protection, Keffe D’s attorneys maintained that their shopper is a liar.
Sentencing is set for Oct. 13, 2006 and Keffe D is dealing with up to life in prison. Reactions to the long-awaited verdict are pouring in.
