Miranda Pearman-Maday is clearing up some misconceptions about her childhood TV habits.

Raven-Symoné’s spouse acquired a lot of backlash a few years in the past when she admitted that didn’t watch That’s So Raven growing up. She made the admission in 2024 on Keke Palmer’s podcast, so naturally, the dialog got here back up during Keke Palmer’s latest look on Tea Time With Raven & Miranda.
While speaking to Palmer about the admission, Pearman-Maday clarified that she was conscious of Raven and her profession, and she wasn’t implying she had no thought who her now-wife was when saying she didn’t watch the show.
“This is where people are getting confused,” Miranda told Keke. “Watching a show is different than knowing someone exists. I just wasn’t running home to sit down to tune in to That’s So Raven. I knew who Raven was.”
This clarification occurred after Pearman-Maday revealed that a lot of the backlash she’s confronted online could be traced back to her earlier look on Palmer’s podcast. That dialog is when Palmer requested about her familiarity with That’s So Raven, which led to an reply from Miranda that some followers took as her downplaying her spouse’s cultural impression.
“Did you know that the start of—I won’t say all—but a significant amount of the online hate against me started on your pod when you asked me about TSR?” Pearman-Maday requested Palmer.
Keke did have a recollection of the uproar, saying followers believed Miranda “didn’t know nothing about Raven’s Raven-ness.”
Pearman-Maday pushed back, saying she has seen the sequence since marrying Raven–but also did cross paths with the show at home through her youthful sister.
“My sister, who’s five years younger than me, she watched it,” Pearman-Maday clarified. “So it would be in the background of my house. I just wasn’t so honed into it that I could say, ‘Oh no, I’m a diehard fan.’”
Despite what some would call an overreaction from followers, Keke understood why the admission landed badly with some followers.
“Black, white, rich, poor—everybody knows Raven,” she said, including that viewers discovered it exhausting to imagine Pearman-Maday had never tuned in. Still, she acknowledged how that complete scenario turned distorted online.
No matter what followers assume of the admission, Raven made it clear that she never needed her associate to be a lifelong fan.
“I have never dated someone who was a fan,” Raven added. “So, I will never marry someone who’s a fan.”
She continued, “I’m not turned on by those who fangirl out about me.”
This latest controversy comes a couple years after Symoné got here to her spouse’s protection over “death threats” Miranda acquired for not watching her iconic Disney Show.
In a video posted to TikTok on May 2, the previous baby star urged web detractors to back off her spouse.
“I’m here with Miranda, my wife, to tell you to stop it in the comments and stop with the death threats in her DMs,” Raven, 38, said as she donned a stern face. Maday sat beside her flashing a coarse look with her arms crossed.
“It is disrespectful to her and in turn disrespectful to me. Stop it.”
