Bay Area tech giant to slash manufacturing jobs at Santa Clara HQ | Latest Tech News
Intel Corporation is downsizing its workforce with a new spherical of everlasting layoffs.
The chipmaking giant will remove 52 manufacturing roles in its Santa Clara after submitting a California Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) on Sept 18. Sept 30 would be the last day of work for the affected workers.
The impacted websites embody Intel’s main company headquarters at the Robert Noyce Building, situated at 2200 Mission College Boulevard, where 22 workers will probably be laid off.

Additional reductions are distributed across three close by Santa Clara places of work that embody 24 employees members at the SC-12 location on 3600 Juliette Lane, 5 employees at the SC-9 facility at 3601 Juliette Lane, and a single worker at the SC-11 workplace at 2191 Laurelwood Road.
Intel’s layoffs come on the heels of a number of rounds of job cuts across the tech industry in California. Earlier this month, funds giant PayPal announced that will probably be firing 251 workers at its San Jose headquarters, affecting dozens of senior administrators, managers and engineers.

The cuts embody 42 senior software program engineers and 28 senior engineering managers, along with varied other leaders, center managers and other roles across the group.
Oracle workers also woke up to surprising early morning termination emails on Sept 14, informing them it might be their last day at the tech giant in its latest spherical of layoffs. The tech giant despatched out termination emails at 6 a.m., citing “broader organizational change” as the explanation for the layoffs.
“After careful consideration of Oracle’s current business needs, we have made the decision to eliminate your role as part of a broader organizational change. As a result, today is your last working day,” the layoff e-mail read, reported Business Insider.
California-based Uber also announced a major organizational restructuring in September, revealing plans to remove 10% of its global workforce, impacting roughly 3,300 workers.
