Eight years after Chaminade bought a 4.8-acre purchasing property across the road from the West Hills campus, the varsity will maintain a ground-breaking ceremony Wednesday as half of a $66-million campus transformation project that includes new amenities including a baseball area, tutorial school rooms, a scholar quad and a pedestrian bridge that will join the north and south campuses.
The baseball area is meant to be completed by the winter of 2028 and all the project by 2030. A new softball area will likely be constructed where the current baseball area rests. There also will likely be a new pool.
Chaminade’s building program begins as one of its Mission League members, Harvard-Westlake, prepares to unveil its River Park Sports Complex in early 2027 that contains a pool, gymnasium, two taking part in fields, a car parking zone, tennis courts and a cafe.
