Amazon has an About You section that is creeping out customers — it even knows if you have a flat buttocks | Latest Tech News

Amazon’s latest characteristic is judging you tougher than your mom ever might.

The e-commerce giant just dropped what it’s calling Amazon’s About You — basically a showcase of your character based on earlier purchases, conversations with Alexa for purchasing, any written product reviews and more.

Technically, the retailer has been offering personalised purchasing recs for years, utilizing algorithms to push merchandise it thinks you will like. Today, it does the same factor but on a larger scale.

“We aim to make every experience feel like it was designed especially for you, whether you are trying to find the perfect outfit, a book you’ll love, or your next dinner idea,” Amazon said in a current press release.

Amazon’s latest characteristic — About You — has created particular person dossiers about its customers.

This time, the favored commerce web site has created an editable section for buyers — which some people are calling a personal file — where all of your habits and likes are displayed for you. The transfer is supposed to offer an even more complete checklist of suggestions based on you.

While the online retail behemoth said these lists might be modified and edited based on what your current preferences are to make more correct recommendations — customers are racing to examine out what its authentic compilation thinks of them.

One Threads consumer shared her fascinating about me section, which included Amazon noting that she has a “flat buttocks.”

“I stumbled upon a page of assumptions that Amazon has made about me based on my purchases and I’m literally speechless,” the Threads consumer wrote. “I mean it ain’t wrong but damn did you have to call me out like that?”

While some dossiers are unintentionally calling customers out, others are fairly correct.

An X consumer revealed theirs, where the company “obsessed with ultra minimal one-bag travel” and “favors Anker for charging solutions,” to which the consumer said that’s true.

Another X consumer posted theirs, which revealed they “made a one-time specialty cheese exploration,” to which the individual wrote on the post — “guilty.”

To examine yours out, it just takes a few clicks and might be discovered in the app, cell web, and desktop.

On cell, head to the Me tab, click on on your identify, and faucet About You. On desktop, hover over your identify above Account & Lists at the top proper — you can either click on your identify or Who’s purchasing? Select a profile.

Then click on on About You — if you dare.
