California tech bro dad blasted for using AI to read to newborn baby | Latest Tech News
The artificial intelligence growth is altering the best way people work, talk and live — and apparently for one tech-obsessed dad, studying to his son.
Alvin Sng, a software program engineer at San Francisco-based AI research lab Factory, recounted on social media a dialog ohe had with his spouse.

“Can you read our baby a book?” his spouse requested, according to Sng’s now-deleted post on X.
The dad replies that he can just play an audiobook, but his spouse objects, noting it received’t be in his voice.
“Me: I can train a voice model,” he responded in the post. “Parenting hits different when you work in AI.”

The post earned swift backlash, with many critics accusing Sng of being a unhealthy dad.
“Absolutely insanity,” commented finance skilled Andrew Lynch. “These people’s brains are broken.”
“Extremely bleak,” added Aaron Fritschner, a deputy chief of workers for Virginia Rep. Don Beyer.

“Me: You are a horrible father,” another added.
Some used the second to rage about AI in basic, which has taken on a more destructive notion in politics and tradition.
“Truly can’t get over the fact that this technology came in and instead of using it to replace fixing toilets or folding clothes, people are using it to make movies and read to their kids,” one consumer commented. “This is maybe the saddest thing I’ve read on this site.”
Others who said using AI would have lasting penalties on the kid.

“These freaks are going to to raise a generation of sociopaths unable to feel human love,” wrote influencer Michael Burns.
After deleting the post, Sng responded to the outrage a day later.

“Ok, enough jokes for a while. I’ll go back to reading bedtime stories for now,” he wrote on X.
Interactions between kids and AI have come under rising scrutiny amid reviews of chatbots encouraging kids to commit suicide. California even enacted a law just lately attempting to put more guardrails.
