Beverly Afaglo had tragically died aged 42. While her trigger of death has not been confirmed, the Ghanaian actress and TV presenter lived with cancer for two years. This was announced by her husband, musician Eugene Baah, popularly identified as Choirmaster or Praye Ho Ne Ho of the Praye music group. In an Instagram post, the heartbroken star described the late actress as his strength, happiness and greatest supporter. He shared: “My heart is shattered beyond words over the death of my beloved wife Beverly Afaglo!!

“It would have just been like four more days until your birthday, but I assume the Lord needed to have fun with you, so he called you. You have been my strength, my happiness and the rationale my life felt full.” Eugene continued: “Every second with you was a blessing, I’ll cherish eternally. “I am hearing your voice right now, cheering me up as always, my number one fan.”

The musician added: “I promise to take care and continue everything we planned and started! Until my last breath you will remain in my heart forever! Sleep well, my babe.”

This post sparked an outpouring of messages across social media, with grieving followers, colleagues and TV personalities within Ghana’s leisure industry expressing shock over the news.

After Eugene deactivated his Instagram account, Beverly’s most social media post, aptly captioned “soldier”, was inundated with tributes, as one wrote: “Now you get to rest, QUEEN, you fought hard.”

“You fought a good fight, you kept the faith, you finished the race. Fly with the angels, dance with the angels on your way like you danced here on earth and rest in perfect peace,” commented a second.

“God rest your soul! You brought joy to the world with your talents! Love you,” added a third.

As a fourth shared: “You never know the battles people are going through, let’s give grace to people. Rest well, you did your best and fought well.”

In an interview with Ghana Weekend, Beverly’s supervisor, Abu Iddris, disclosed that despite her deteriorating condition, the actress remained dedicated to her profession and household, even while present process treatment.

“In fact, we shot things for her while she was undergoing treatment. The premieres, the promotions, she was undergoing treatment. She lived while doing her very best until the cancer really overtook her,” he said.

He additional revealed that Beverly had travelled to the United States for treatment and was suggested to stay there because of the superior medical care obtainable, but she selected to return to Ghana to spend time with her youngsters.

“She chose to come be with her kids, knowing the situation. This is the kind of person she is. She chose to come see her kids and spend the last days with them at a cost,” Abu added
