As West Nile Virus creeps into California, a new AI-powered mosquito killer may very well be just what Californians need to defend them from the world’s deadliest creature.
The Photon Matrix is a high-tech zapper combines futuristic mild detection and ranging technology (LiDAR), radar, with AI directing a precision laser to detect mosquitoes and zap them useless with a blue laser.
It’s been dubbed “an Iron Dome for mosquitoes” by one robotics commentator on X.

The gadget’s LiDAR scanner has a goal vary of 20 ft, and its zaps are “quieter than a whisper,” according to the company.
The company is also promoting an indoor model of the gadget, which makes use of infrared detection and a laser invisible to the human eye.
Videos of the out of doors model show the gadget placing on a mild show when activated, zapping mosquitoes with its vivid blue lasers.
The out of doors model is out there for $1,088, while the indoor model retails for $988.
