Alaska, Florida, Wyoming – PurpleState | Political News
We are (finally) in the home stretch of Primary Season as Tuesday consists of major elections in three states: Alaska, Florida, and Wyoming.
The bulk of the main focus in this set shall be on Florida for a couple of causes: 1) The Sunshine State is where Tuesday’s most contested races are centered; and 2) Florida’s polls will close, and votes shall be tallied before Wyoming’s — and nicely before Alaska’s.
One of the most carefully watched races in Florida will, of course, be the governor’s — in explicit, the GOP major — with Ron DeSantis term-limited. Congressman Byron Donalds (FL-19) obtained President Trump’s endorsement and is taken into account the frontrunner. The winner of this contest will seemingly face former Rep. (and former Republican) David Jolly for the Democrats in November.
Florida’s also holding a particular election major for the Senate seat presently held by Republican Ashley Moody (who was appointed to the seat when Marco Rubio left it to turn out to be King of Memes Secretary of State). Moody is clearly the favourite on the GOP aspect, and will seemingly be up against retired Army Lt. Col. Alex Vindman (yeah, him) in November. All of the House seats have their primaries as nicely, with maybe the most intriguing one (compliments of redistricting) being FL-20.

On the polar (actually) reverse end of the nation, there’s Alaska, where an infinite provide of candidates are vying for the Governor’s Mansion. (Our own Alaska Man, Ward Clark, has shared some of his ideas on the matter, including on frontrunner Bernadette Wilson.) Incumbent Republican Rep. Nick Begich (AK-AL) is making an attempt to maintain onto his House seat, as is Dan Sullivan (the real Dan Sullivan) his Senate seat.
In Wyoming, Republican Rep. Harriet Hageman (WY-AL) is now vying for the Cowboy State’s open Senate seat, which, in flip, leaves a number of Republican candidates vying for her current House seat. (There’s a Democrat major, too, but only two candidates in that contest.)
Poll closing instances are as follows:
- Alaska — 12:00 AM ET (1:00 AM ET for the Aleutians)
- Florida — 7:00 PM ET (8:00 PM ET for the Panhandle)
- Wyoming — 9:00 PM ET
