It appears Underwood wearing the dress was a nod to the night’s theme, where the Top 12 were whittled down to the Top 10–and saw them all re-creating iconic Idol moments of the past and singing songs past competitors had performed.

In the end, Che Chesterman, who performed Dancing On My Own, and Filo, who honored Jennifer Hudson by performing And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going, were eliminated.

Still in the competition for the Season 23 title are Slater Nalley, Thunderstorm Artis, Kolbi Jordan,Mattie Pruitt, Canaan James Hill, Gabby Simone, Josh King, Breanna Nix, John Foster and Jamal Roberts.
