Another unlawful killinging Mom? Texas Woman Charged With | Political News

This is getting loopy. RedState has been following a disturbing collection of circumstances involving moms accused of brutally attacking or killing their own kids.

Now there’s another one, and this time two younger males are useless. Texas authorities have charged 42-year-old Colleen Nichole Lemmon with two counts of capital homicide after investigators say she shot both of her sons inside their Waxahachie home early Thursday morning.

Her oldest son, Christopher Scott Pitre, 21, was pronounced useless at the scene. His 15-year-old brother was rushed to a hospital in vital condition but later died. Authorities haven’t launched the youthful boy’s title.

The particulars contained in a search-warrant affidavit are even more disturbing. According to local reporting on the affidavit, Ellis County dispatchers acquired a 911 call that disconnected. After getting the caller back on the road, a girl reportedly said that “all units” have been needed before the call disconnected again.

When deputies reached the home, they might hear a girl yelling at them to get more items and telling them she had a gun in her hand. Deputies encountered Lemmon with blood on her arms, according to the affidavit.

When officers entered the cellular home, they reportedly discovered her in the lounge “covered in blood with a gun next to her.” She also appeared to have what the affidavit described as self-inflicted cuts to her wrists. Then got here the alleged admission.

“I shot both of my kids,” Lemmon told deputies, according to the affidavit.

She told officers the 2 victims have been in the main bedroom and a back bed room. Deputies discovered Pitre and his 15-year-old brother with gunshot wounds to their heads.

Pitre was pronounced useless at the scene. His youthful brother was transported to a hospital, where he later died from his accidents.

Investigators said evidence recovered during the investigation established possible trigger to establish Lemmon as the particular person accountable for capturing both sons.

Lemmon herself suffered accidents authorities described as non-life-threatening. She was taken to a hospital for treatment before being transported to the Wayne McCollum Detention Center and booked on two counts of capital homicide. Her bond was reportedly set at $2.5 million.

Authorities haven’t publicly recognized a motive or explained what they consider occurred in the hours main up to the shootings.

What makes the story notably unsettling is how rapidly it follows a number of other circumstances involving moms accused of horrific violence against their kids.

Just days in the past, RedState reported on South Carolina mom Taylor Gosnell, who authorities say stabbed her two younger kids roughly 50 instances.

“Between the two children, we’re estimating that there were approximately 50 stab wounds,” Graham McLellan with the sheriff’s workplace said.

Prosecutors said some of those wounds went all the way in which to the youngsters’s bones.

“Some of the lacerations were so deep they cut to the bone,” the solicitor’s workplace said.

Both kids survived, but the six-year-old boy suffered accidents so extreme that prosecutors said he confronted the chance of shedding fingers or even an arm.

That case itself adopted other disturbing incidents RedState has lined involving alleged maternal violence.

In Illinois, prosecutors accused Corie Walsh of killing her two-year-old son while believing the kid was the “devil” and the “anti-Christ.” According to earlier reporting, Walsh had also been discussing the Lindsay Clancy case with pals only hours before her son was discovered useless.

And then there’s Clancy’s own high-profile Massachusetts case, which ended in a mistrial after she was accused of killing her three younger kids.

The speedy succession of high-profile circumstances involving moms allegedly inflicting excessive violence on their own kids is troublesome to dismiss as sheer coincidence.

The Clancy case also produced a national debate over postpartum psychosis, mental sickness and how psychiatric situations ought to issue into prison culpability. One Clancy juror, Paula Devlin, described the trial afterward as an alternative to “get a conversation started.”

“We didn’t know what was going on outside of that room, but we knew that we had a chance to get a conversation started that could change something, that could maybe stop this from ever happening again,” Devlin said.

She later added: “We knew that this was a turning point, and this would be something that could change something to make it better for other women. You know, justice for those children is this never happening again.”

Yet right here we’re again. It is nearly just like the “message” to be despatched to those who may kill their own kids is they might go to prison for the remaining of their lives. Or, they may probably even be executed.

Whatever prison trial follows in the aftermath, Christopher Scott Pitre and his youthful brother ought to stay at the middle of this story. They are the victims.
