A guest of BBC’s Antiques Roadshow was left gobsmacked after a household ring, long thought to be a low cost piece of costume jewelry, turned out to be a uncommon and helpful emerald piece price more than anticipated.

The jaw-dropping revelation occurred during an episode first broadcast in October 2022, which was repeated on Sunday.

Filmed at the historic Wollaton Hall in Nottingham, the episode showcased a selection of intriguing gadgets, including a Batman masks donned by Jack Nicholson, poetry, and personal belongings introduced to the UK by Ugandan Asians escaping their homeland in 1972.

However, it was a jewelry analysis by skilled John Benjamin that left one household completely shocked. The friends, two cousins, offered a assortment of inherited treasures handed down through generations.
