Before unveiling the retail value, appraiser Sarah Churgin, said the platinum ring, “probably made right here in America” was created with “a beautifully-made mounting with round brilliant cut stones that graduate.”

The “slightly fluorescent” stone in the center was described as “very clean” and “bright.”

“So if we had a sunnier day than we had today, it would really pop,” she mentioned.

She estimates the center diamond to be “almost three and a half carats.” Adding in the weight of the smaller stones, she stated: “So the ring has a total carat weight above five carats.”

Chrugin finally appraised the ring and gave it a value of around $60,000 to $70,000 in today’s market.

The woman was left stunned as she responded: “Geez-o-Pete-o.”

She followed her initial reaction with a laugh.

“Oh wow! Man. I better get some insurance on it,” she added.

Antiques Roadshow airs Mondays on PBS at 9 pm EST.
