“Now, you’ve heard of Honus Wagner,” Simeon asked, referring to Johannes Peter “Honus” Wagner, who was an American baseball shortstop who played 21 seasons in Major League Baseball from 1897 to 1917.

“We’ve talked about the Honus Wagner, this is a Honus Wagner card. This John Wagner. Now it’s not ‘the’ Honus Wagner card, but this is Honus Wagner,” Simeon explained.

“A card like that, in that condition, it’s probably worth about 500 bucks,” the expert said, prompting the lady to exclaim: “Wow!”

But Simeone wasn’t finished with the good news just yet. “I mentioned Ted Williams. Ted Williams had come back from the war, and you have four of them, they could go anywhere from $1500 to $2,000 each,” he added.

“Each?” the woman asked, as Simeone confirmed: “Each. Then we have Joe DiMaggio. He was also away during the war, he came back, and these generally sell in between $2,500 to $3,000 each.

“Rookie cards, Sta Musial. You have four of his rookie cards right there. Those sell somewhere in the $3,000 range each,” Simeone continued.

Next up was Babe Ruth, and the lady owned six of the cards with his face on.

“Those sell around $3,000 each,” the expert shared, before going on to say: “The most important card in the set, the rookie card of one of the most important people of the 20th century, Jackie Robinson.

“These sell for between $15,000 and $20,000 each. Okay, you got three of those? I would put an insurance estimate of $150,000,” Simeone concluded as the guest stared back at him in a state of shock.

“Well, I guess, a safety deposit box instead of a bureau,” the lady joked.
