An Antiques Roadshow visitor was left dancing with pleasure after discovering the true worth of his Chinese ceramics.

“There’s a vase inside. That’s actually quite a tricky thing to do and what’s really special about this is the shape.

“This is one of the oldest shapes recognized to Chinese tradition. This is an historical form and the query is, is it historical? Let’s simply take a look at this base, we could?

“These lumpy little brackets, these feet, with the lovely orange tinge where the glaze meets the body, that, to me, suggests to me that it is Ming Dynasty.”
