UFC legend B.J. Penn can not have contact with his mother until May 2026 after a household court ruling in Hawaii on Tuesday.
Penn’s mother, Lorraine Shin, was granted a one-year, no-contact safety order by choose Jeffery Ng. The Hawaii Tribune-Herald first reported the news.
Shin sought a two-year protective order but the choose opted for one 12 months. Penn was ordered not to contact his mother even by telephone call, textual content message. As the phrases have been being read, Penn walked out of the court room.
Penn reacted to the judges’ ruling via social media and posted audio of his closing assertion to the choose.
“Judgie Ng has denied every TRO and every Motion that I’ve tried to do with Fake Lorraine. Judge Maria Penn my sister-in-law is a whole nother story. We’ll get to her later! I believe she was fake Lorraine that day in court,” Penn wrote on Instagram.
“They think that pushing people around and cheating and covering up evidence and doing all these different things is power. But they’re very foolish! Power is not how much you can hurt someone. Power is how much you can help someone,” he added.

Pennn alleges that his total household, including his mother, have been murdered and changed by imposters making an attempt to seize the household’s property. He was arrested in May and charged with abuse of a household or family member and arrested three more occasions over a two-week span. He was ordered to vacate the home he shared with Shin in June after violating a restraining order.
Penn once held the UFC light-weight and welterweight titles. He was inducted in the UFC Hall of Fame in 2015. He last fought in May 2019, shedding to Clay Guida by unanimous resolution.
