Former Bachelorette star Joe Amabile, affectionately recognized as “Grocery Store Joe,” has shared that a surgical procedure to take away a tumor that was discovered on his brain was profitable, and he’s formally on the street to recovery.
Amabile, 40, competed on the 14th season of the ABC show, with Becca Kufrin as the lead, and was eradicated during the first week, before returning to the franchise for both seasons 5 and 7 of Bachelor in Paradise, where he met his now spouse, Serena Pitt.
Now, after sharing with followers on their Bachelor Happy Hour Podcast that he had a “blueberry-sized” lesion on his brain that docs found during an MRI scan, he has additional up to date followers that the tumor has now been eliminated.
Fans had been initially given an update by Pitt, who took to her Instagram Stories, to share that the retrieval of the tumor had been profitable.
Sharing a pic to her tales of herself clutching his hand from the facet of his hospital mattress, she wrote, “The best update: they were able to remove the entire tumor and Joe is recovering really well. We’re feeling so grateful.”

Amabile himself later took to his own account to share some photographs of himself at the hospital during his recovery.
“They got it all!” he captioned the sequence of photographs, exhibiting himself both in his hospital mattress and sitting up in a chair with pajamas on.
The post was met with supportive feedback from a number of other Bachelor Nation alums. “HELL YES THEY DID WHY AM I CRYING,” Season 11 Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe wrote, while Season 24 winner Hannah Ann Sluss commented, “PTL!”

Jenna Johnson, who Amabile partnered with during Season 27 of Dancing With the Stars, also commented, writing, “Joe!!!!”
“Love you @joeamabile1 you did it!” Emma Slater added, while Alan Bersten shared, “So proud of you. Love you dude,” and Cheryl Burke shared prayer fingers emojis.
The update got here after he initially shared his fears over the state of affairs when asserting that he was going to need surgical procedure.

He shared the news in a video he posted to his account on July 13.
“So a little medical update. I didn’t share my Prenuvo results because they ended up finding a lesion in my brain. So then I had to go get a brain MRI, and there was a blueberry-sized lesion in my brain that looks to be a glioma, which is a tumor,” he shared at the time.
“I’m doing my best to stay positive during this time and am lucky to have a lot of support from family and friends,” he added. “I’ve gone back and forth about what I wanted to share on social media, but ultimately, this is now part of my life, so might as well. Onto a new journey.”
