Nadiya Hussain has said she was once so burnt out while filming that she was rushed to hospital in an ambulance and has “never been so unwell in my life.” The Great British Bake Off winner, who labored for the BBC for a decade, claimed there was “no one there” for her in a new interview.

“During the last series, I got so sick we had to call an ambulance,” she told Closer magazine. “I ended up in the hospital overnight. It was a burnout – I’ve never been so unwell in my life.”

She continued: “Now I don’t have anyone breathing down my neck, there is a sense of relief. I don’t want to work with people who don’t see my worth.”

Nadiya said that while “there’s an idea that you’re taken care of in the TV industry’ it’s actually ‘quite the opposite”.

“You’re propped up so you’re well enough to do your job,” she said.

“I didn’t drink caffeine before and didn’t even particularly like chocolate, but it became caffeine, chocolate, a bit of eye cream, another layer of lipstick, a spritz of the face, fresh air –and back onto set.”

She added, “I learned to cope with it and to keep going, but there’s no one there for you when you crash.”

Her feedback after she claimed her BBC programme was quietly dropped last yr after she’d raised a quantity of points with producers about the format.

She later parted methods with her agent and supervisor and at the end of last yr she began working as a educating assistant in a local major college.

Nadiya was pressured to depart the function after just three months as she said her broken immune system could not cope with the fixed sicknesses she was being uncovered to.
