Reform UK’s Zia Yusuf furiously hit out at the BBC as he appeared on Laura Kuenssberg‘s Sunday morning show on March 29. Laura questioned the MP on Reform’s “turbulent week” after offensive feedback made by members of the celebration as she requested the MP about their vetting course of after stating that Nigel Farage said it will be “improved”. Yusuf immediately said that all of the claims have been abhorrent and continued: “The Party has taken action on that,” as he defended the vetting course of and said that even if that they had a 99.9% success price, a handful will still fall through.
However, that impressed his level on vetting and news coverage as he took the chance to hit out at the BBC, stating it was “reasonable to hold Reform to account”, but claimed that the BBC is “pouncing on every single Reform mishap”.
He fumed that the coverage is “vastly disproportionate”, and said the BBC “completely ignores the far more voluminous misdemeanors and frankly egrigous things from other parties.” He went to give an instance but the host cut him off to clarify that Reform had misplaced more councillors than other political events.
Yusuf then shut her down and told her it was “completely incorrect” and said: “A couple of days ago Green Party activists and candidates made a series of horrible anti-semetic comments,” he hit out at claims he said have been made by the Green Party and fumed: “The BBC has not even reported on that Laura.”
