BBC Gladiators star sets record straight on show exit | UK News

Gladiators star Cyclone has addressed hypothesis surrounding her departure from the hit BBC competitors, insisting she was not eliminated from the show. Rumours emerged earlier this week suggesting the athlete, whose real identify is Lystus Ebosele, had been dropped from the programme forward of its fourth sequence.

However, talking out on her Instagram Stories on Thursday, July 31, Ebosele set the record straight. She told followers that leaving Gladiators had been her own resolution, explaining that she had chosen to “step away from the show for a few reasons”. She also apologised to viewers who had been upset by the news.

In a assertion, The Gladiators star said: “There are videos and so many different narratives circulating about me being ‘axed’ from the show I had previously been a part of. I have not been axed, I have left of my own accord.

“I’m so sorry to all the households that have come to filming anticipating me to be there, and have came upon about my absence on arrival to the world with no clarification, I actually am, because it is not honest to the followers of the show how issues have transpired.”

Regarding her causes why she determined to depart from the BBC programme, Ebosele said she doesn’t know “if or when” she will discuss them, but said she believes it was the “appropriate resolution”.

In a separate story on her Instagram, Ebosele said: “In saying that… I’d never ever remorse my time on the show, I’ve made sisters and brothers 4 LIFE and I’ve gotten to inspire a era of younger ladies to grow up figuring out they are often STRONG, BEAUTIFUL and that they’ll UNAPOLOGETICALLY DOMINATE whatever world they select.

“But there’s no world in which I can stay and be a part of the show any longer. Thank you to everyone who has tuned in and supported me up until now it means the world. Love C.”

The 25-year-old Irish powerlifting champion reassured followers that they may still have the option to see her as half of the Gladiators Live Tour in 2026. The nationwide tour will get underway in Aberdeen on October 10, with Ebosele saying she is “very excited” to be concerned.

Her announcement follows news that fellow Gladiators Bionic and Athena will both miss the fourth sequence because of accidents. Giant has also been confirmed as absent from the upcoming season.
