BBC viewers had been united in their sentiment as they watched the highly-anticipated VE Day 80 celebrations.

A reside live performance was held to commemorate the eightieth anniversary of Victory in Europe Day from the celebrated Horse Guards Parade in London on Thursday (May 8) night.
