BBC Breakfast presenter Naga Munchetty recalled the day faux nude pictures of herself had been posted online because the “most humiliating day of my life.”

Although she admitted to being “used to” seeing deceptive tales about herself, these photos left her “mortified.”

The broadcaster said: “Paid-for advertisements are popping up across X and Facebook, some including crudely mocked-up images of me naked – my face badly photoshopped onto someone else’s body.

“I was both mortified and bemused, curious about who would pay good money to spread such obvious nonsense.”

Naga added to BBC: “And what was their motive? Is it something malicious? Someone with an axe to grind?”

After an investigation with the BBC 5 Live manufacturing group, she realized that her “name and image were being used by scammers to try to hoodwink people out of money.”

By clicking on the social media paid-for commercials, people would then be taken to a faux information article full with the BBC brand and imagery.

According to the faux article, Naga had been detained by the federal government after a “controversial” interview on ITV’s This Morning.

She had allegedly given viewers particulars about a “lucrative loophole” to make money.

Speaking on the faux web site, the broadcaster added: “It contained links to a scam cyber trading website, which has now been taken down after my production team reported it to the BBC legal team.”

This isn’t the primary time Naga has confronted scammers, as she was beforehand compelled to warn face about a faux account created by somebody impersonating her.

The Instagram account used a picture of Naga during her look on The Weakest Link as its profile image alongside a bio that learn: “Born to be real. Personal private account for text.”

Naga quickly informed fans that this was not her, confirming that she only has one Instagram account and penned: “This account is not mine. It is impersonating me. My account is @tvnaga.”
