Beloved TV chefs cause of death ruled as suicide | | UK News


TV chef Anne Burrell’s cause of death has been revealed a month after she died at the age of 55. The Food Network star was discovered unresponsive in her Brooklyn home on June 17, but no cause of death was revealed at the time. It has now been confirmed that the star died by suicide from “acute intoxication due to the combined effects of diphenhydramine, ethanol, cetirizine, and amphetamine”. The City of New York Office of Chief Medical Examiner concluded its investigation on Thursday and cited suicide as her official method of death.

At the time, a New York Police Department spokesperson advised Page Six that she had been discovered on the morning of June 17 at her Brooklyn condominium, where she was later pronounced useless when emergency companies arrived. Her death was introduced in a assertion from her household 5 weeks in the past. “Her smile lit up every room she entered. Anne began her TV career in 2005 when she joined Mark Ladner for a pilot episode of Food Network’s Iron Chef US series.

She then hosted her own successful series, Secrets of a Restaurant Chef, in 2008.

In 2009, she appeared on the show The Best Thing I Ever Ate. Anne was also famed for hosting Worst Cooks in America, which has been running for the last 15 years with 28 seasons.

She is survived by her partner, Stuart Claxton, whom she married in 2021. The couple met on the dating app Bumble in 2018.
