Beyond Paradise star Kris Marshall lifts lid on drama | UK News


Kris Marshall has teased that there shall be a lot of “drama” in the new sequence of Beyond Paradise.

The actor beforehand starred in the BBC‘s in style crime sequence Death in Paradise, which is set on the fictional Caribbean island of Saint Marie, then reprised his position as DI Humphrey Goodman in the spin-off, which sees Humphrey settling down in Devon.

Discussing the upcoming fourth sequence during an look on The One Show, Kris said that after Humphrey tied the knot with companion Martha (Sally Bretton) in the Christmas particular, “there’s not the will-they-won’t-they drama going on”.

“But there’s a lot more dramas following him,” he said, teasing “a rather nautical drama that occurs pretty much at the beginning of season four”.

“So yeah, drama is not too far away with Humphrey!” he laughed.

Asked his favorite crime from the new episodes, Kris shared: “Well, I mean, I always love anything involving water and being in the water or on the water.

“We have gotten a great episode this season about mermaids. So clearly that invariably includes a lot of water. And yeah, so that’s always my favorite.”

Kris appeared on the programme, which was hosted by presenters JB Gill and Clara Amfo, along with his co-star Dylan Llewellyn, who plays Constable Kelby Hartford.

Quizzed about some of the new cases in store for the officers, Dylan said: “So for the season we have got a lot more folklore again, which is great, a lot of like treasure maps, treasure map of Shipton Abbott, Green Man, and Morris dancing, although we call it Dark Morris dancing.”

Dylan revealed that his character gets stuck into the action in the programme’s new run, sharing: “Honestly, they get me working. They get me soiled for sure.”

He explained that in one scene he was “falling about in like a muddy dock space”, adding: “And yeah, it took me a couple of showers to get the seaweed odor out of me.”

“I used to be like actually sinking in,” he said. “That is one of the funniest issues I’ve ever seen, actually,” Kris chimed in. “I imply, he’s hilarious.”

The One Show airs at 7pm on BBC One on weekdays.

The new sequence of Beyond Paradise begins at 8pm on BBC One on Friday (March 27).
