Boebert Blasts Ethics Complaint Claiming She Slept

Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) has fired back at an ethics criticism that claimed she slept with male and feminine staffers.

On Saturday, SourcesSay reported Boebert’s heated response to the criticism.

“Well, I’m not a lesbian or biinappropriate, and I have never, ever been in any inappropriate relationship, nor have I ever been inappropriately involved with any staff,” Boebert told Sources Say News. Addressing the additional claims connected to the story alleging a relationship with former Rep. Matt Gaetz and his spouse, Ginger, she added, “Creative, I’ll give him that!”

Despite being eyebrow-raising, these reactions are literally a constructive signal. It goes to show that politics watchers are “initiated.”

The allegations come from a criticism filed with the House Committee on Ethics on Sept. 17 by David B. Wheeler, who heads American Muckrakers, a group that has focused Boebert for years.

Wheeler signed the submitting under penalty of perjury. That doesn’t suggest the allegations have been established as true, however, and the criticism itself isn’t a discovering by the Ethics Committee. The committee has not publicly announced that it has opened an investigation.

The criticism alleges Boebert had inappropriate relationships with three people who labored under her supervision: former district director Clarice Navarro Ratzlaff, current district chief of workers Raven Finegan, and former chief of workers Jeffrey Small.

The most detailed allegations concern Navarro, a former Colorado state lawmaker who served as Boebert’s district director from 2021 until early 2025.

And the sourcing issues right here. Public payroll and campaign-finance information can set up that staffers labored for Boebert, how a lot they had been paid and what her marketing campaign reported spending. Those information do not set up that inappropriate relationships occurred.

Wheeler also has a historical past with Boebert. In 2022, American Muckrakers printed allegations that Boebert had beforehand labored as a paid escort. House Rule XXIII states that a member “may not engage in a inappropriate relationship with any employee of the House who works under the supervision of the Member.” The rule accommodates an exception for married {couples}.

The criticism asks the Ethics Committee to examine Boebert and seeks referrals of some of its allegations to federal authorities. At this level, though, that’s what the submitting stays: a criticism containing severe allegations, not an Ethics Committee discovering. 

Boebert denies the central claims. Navarro denies the allegations involving her. And the most salacious addition to the story has so far produced no publicly launched evidence.
