Three U.S. helicopter pilots were shot in the legs during the seize of former Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro, Donald Trump revealed during a speech at Fort Bragg on Friday.

Trump last visited Fort Bragg in June to mark the Army’s 250th anniversary. Discussing heroics by U.S. troopers, he said: “Three helicopter pilots who were wounded pretty badly in the legs landing and a couple of machine gunners seemed to have make it through a thicket of bombs. But they were taken out rapidly by our snipers who were stationed on platforms.”

“Those pilots were incredible and really brave,” said Trump, including that the crowd would see some of them shortly.

Despite his type phrases, some of his critics described Trump’s speech as the ramblings of a madman. “None of this makes any sense,” wrote one individual.

Another individual called Trump’s remarks a “word salad,” while a third described it as a “dementia brain glitch.”

Some advised that the president might need been confused and was really describing the plot of a film. “Is he talking about the movie Black Hawk Down?” requested one individual. “Because when it was about drugs and Venezuela and Mexico, he talked about the movie Clear and Present Danger, thinking it was real too. We’re doomed.”

One individual wrote: “I can guarantee you he is watching movies and thinking it’s real.”

Trump said his administration is inviting oil firms to Venezuela to rebuild its vitality industry. U.S. officers have also seized tankers as half of their broad oversight of the nation’s oil industry.

“The relationship is strong, the oil is coming out,” the president said. “We have our big oil companies going in, they’re going to be pumping out the oil and selling the oil for a lot of money.”

Trump is planning a Florida gathering next month with leaders from a number of Latin American nations as the administration focuses on what it sees as regarding Chinese affect in the area.
