Brian Laundries sister breaks silence on Gabby | TV Shows
Cassie Laundrie, sister of Brian Laundrie, has come forward to assert her lack of knowledge regarding Gabby Petito’s vanishing until the police reached out to her.
She refuted allegations that she informed officers about Brian discussing leaving Gabby at a Wyoming hotel and then flying back to Florida solo.
“No one from any family contacted me until Detective Barry called me,” Cassie stated on Instagram, challenging claims by Suffolk County detective Tracey Barry. “Det. Barry gravely miscommunicated what I told her on the phone.”
Despite being consistently adamant about her non-involvement in Gabby’s murder, Cassie also disclosed her estrangement from her parents, Christopher and Roberta Laundrie.
In response to online criticism, she posted: “If you’re new here and just starting to attack me today – I’ve been no contact with my parents for almost two years. Have fun.”
Throughout the ordeal, Christopher and Roberta have faced criticism for their persistent refusal to cooperate with law enforcement while Gabby’s family was frantically searching for her.
The documentary reveals a shocking “burn after reading” letter from Roberta to her son Brian, purportedly offering assistance in burying a body out of love.
Despite her assertion that it was penned prior to Brian and Gabby’s ill-fated journey, the absence of a date has left Gabby’s family profoundly disturbed.
In a stark turn of events, 2022 saw the Petito and Laundrie families settling a wrongful death lawsuit for $3 million.
Gabby’s vanishing act and the tragic discovery of her remains on September 19, 2021, in Wyoming’s wilderness captured national attention.
The manhunt for Brian kept the case in the limelight as his body was eventually located in October 2021 within a Florida reserve. The FBI determined that Brian’s death was self-inflicted, coupled with a note where he admitted killing Gabby.
Prior to this grim end, Gabby was consistently updating her family on her travel adventures with Brian, broadcasting their nomadic life across social media platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok. Their digital footprint had grown into an engaged audience before spiraling into a morbid fascination.
In a sequence of events pieced together by the FBI, Brian crafted text messages from Gabby’s phone to create an illusion of her being alive and even unlawfully utilized one of her credit cards until his own demise was confirmed.
Brian and Gabby, a couple engaged to be married, were both originally from Blue Point, New York. They relocated to North Port, Florida, in 2019, where Brian’s parents resided.
It was from this location that they embarked on the fateful road trip that tragically ended their lives.
