Bruce Springsteen criticized Donald Trump while expressing assist for Stephen Colbert amid the sudden cancellation of his late-night program.
The Born in the USA legend, 76, took the stage and did not mince phrases, accusing the president, 79, of being incapable of accepting criticism. Prior to performing Streets of Minneapolis, Springsteen addressed the viewers, “Thank you, Stephen.
“I’m right here in assist tonight for Stephen because you are the first man in America who’s misplaced his show because we have got a president who cannot take a joke.”
The development comes as Colbert’s final broadcast is expected to serve as a cautionary tale for other television hosts who may be at risk.

A fourth person commented, “God Bless Bruce and God Bless America! (America positively wants our prayers).” The outspoken musician has frequently been at odds with Trump throughout the years.
Most recently, Springsteen appeared unexpectedly at a No Kings rally in Minnesota in late March, where he delivered an impassioned speech denouncing ICE before performing his song Streets of Minneapolis.
He reinforced his criticism during a concert at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on April 7, telling the audience that Trump was “corrupt, incompetent, racist, reckless, and treasonous.”
Trump swiftly responded on Truth Social, accusing the rock star of having “Trump Derangement Syndrome” before labeling him “a whole loser who spews hate.”
He also ridiculed the musician’s appearance, describing him as a “dried up prune” who had “suffered vastly from the work of a actually dangerous plastic surgeon”, while dismissing him as a “dangerous, and very boring singer,” and encouraged his MAGA supporters to boycott Springsteen’s “overpriced live performance.”
Stephen Colbert’s final episode of The Late Show is scheduled to air on Thursday, May 21, concluding his 11-year tenure as host of the CBS program.
