Bryson DeChambeau was overcome with emotion after clinching the LIV Golf South Africa event on Sunday, shedding tears as he explained the importance of his victory.
The two-time US Open champion triumphed over Jon Rahm in a playoff to secure the win. He confessed that he had been grappling with personal points off the inexperienced throughout the week.
An emotional DeChambeau expressed gratitude to his crew for their unwavering assist amid the challenges he confronted. After not too long ago struggling a humiliating second on digital camera, he loved a far better end this time around.
DeChambeau is now celebrating back-to-back victories and appears to be hitting his stride just in time for the 12 months’s first major championship. He will set his sights on Augusta National in April, hoping to don his first Green Jacket.
Last 12 months, he was well-positioned to obtain this feat but fell short on the ultimate day as Rory McIlroy accomplished the profession Grand Slam.

And the American admitted he thought he was going to lose at one level after his tee shot. He explained: “It’s so funny, golf is a fickle game, and you work so hard at it your whole entire life, and you realize that golf is just golf and there’s a lot more to life than just golf.
“During the off time this week, I had some issues occur, and I spent the day praying for perseverance to keep transferring ahead. I just need to say, I really like everybody.
“Thank you for your support. South Africa was incredible. It has to be the best LIV event we’ve ever had. You’ve been with me for eight straight days, plus two playoffs. Maybe I should bring you to the Masters or something.”

The American confessed that he thought he was going to lose after his tee shot. He added: “I was fortunate enough to get a good lie. It was muddy, so I’m trying to aim over there, worst case scenario, and I just pulled it again and I knew I’d be okay and get somewhat of a lie.”
“I got a great lie, I dropped it, and I got to place it, luckily, and then had a perfect lie and striped it to the middle of the green, and it fed right over to 12 feet, and I was not going to leave myself a three-footer on that one.”
